Minimum wage in the Netherlands

The Minimum Wage Act in the Netherlands is valid from 01.01.2017. It concerns only international cabotage (except transit). The minimum wage requirement does not apply only to a self-employed person, provided that he can show that he is the owner of the vehicle he is operating.

The salary is dependent on weekly working hours and driver’s age.

This wage does not include allowances paid in connection with business trip as well as living and housing costs.

The Netherlands, like France, also impose an obligation to appoint a representative. A contact person can be a person from the company that is able to communicate at least in English.
